Lilacs For Mom

Nothing reminds me more of Mother's Day than seeing the lilacs bloom. They arrive in their splendor exactly in time. I know God has a plan because he sends us lilacs to honor our Moms. I like to fill my vintage pitchers with all the lilacs I can put my hands on as their season is so short lived. The aroma of fresh lilacs wafting through each room is so intoxicating. They represent romance and love. So be sure to pick some lovely lilacs to present to your Mom and she will know she is loved. Happy Mother's Day!

Hi Susie,
I love lilacs, too. The first plant I ever bought for our old house 34 years ago was a lilac. It grew so big out by the garage we had to keep it pruned so it would not take over the garage, lol. And you're right the bloomin' season never lasted long enough.

Hi Susie....I can't think why anyone wouldn't love lilacs! They just smell heavenly and the colors are so beautiful. I can't, however, think of lilacs without remembering my oldest DDs 7th grade spelling bee....she had spelled lots of long, hard words and towards the end of the bee they called out "lilacs" as her word....before she could stop herself she had spelled out l-i-c-l-a-c...."liclac"...so now our family refers to the beautiful flowers as "liclacs"...:)

Happy Mother's Day to you, Susie!

Hi Susie,

I absolutely adore lilacs. My nose is itching right now from Spring allergies, but I'll take it any day. It is finally sunny and warm here in MA and I'm enjoying every moment of it. I figured I would blog a bit, then get to work, then blog a bit and get back to work.

Have a wonderful day Monday

xoxo
