Joys Along My Summer Drive

I took a leisurely drive East on Friday to go to the magnicient farm stands to get fresh peaches and blueberries. Taking advantage of the farms this time of year is like gold to me. Fruits and vegetables are so fresh and tastey. Delectable. I get enough for a few days and repeat the process so I can go off on another farm jaunt! Did I mention the banana bread? Or the chocolate cookies freshly baked? Or the jars of rasberry jam?

Then there are the flowers! Bright sunflowers, colorful zinnias, mixed arrays of floral eye candy.I came home with purple and white statice that I can have dry out and last me until next year. That is, unless one of my cats decide that it makes a good nibble. Why do cats do that???

To top off my beautiful day on the North Shore of Long Island, I stopped in to "The Modern Snack Bar "http://modernsnackbar.com/, a flash from the past family run restaurant where the waitresses wear white uniforms and everything is home cooked. I had the most delicious broiled flounder, mashed potatoes and cole slaw. Yummo! My tummy was full, my eyes were pleased and I had a car full of fresh fruits and veggies.
Try and get out and about in your towns and support the local farmers.
Question: I try to put my pictures in between my writings but they all come out grouped together. Any suggestions, blog pals?

Susie, your drive looks gorgeous. Wish I had been with you, especially for that yummy lunch! I have the same trouble with the pic. I load the picture that will be at the end and then drag it to where it has to go. Then the next to last, then drag. and so on. Hope there's a more efficient way!

Thanks for sharing your fun day with us. I would of loved to be there and stroll through those places too. I can't believe the women wear white. I would lov eto see their uniforms and see how white they are at the end of the day. I would have to own a uniform for eachday I worked.
I have been making freezer Jam so I would of attacked the fruit area. Kath'

Susie!
Yummo is right! Wish I could reach right into your photos and get some fruit!!

Re: your photo problem....
you can download them in any order and move them to wherever you want them!
Just download, click on photo and drag to the correct spot; download a second & do the same...as you are moving them your words will get all squirrely looking but will straighten back to normal after you settle your photo. Also, if you drag the 2nd one to the same position as the 1st, they will line up one next to the other...keep moving the 2nd one and you will see the 1st one move back into correct position!
Hope that makes sense!
Hugs!

PS..You can also place your photos within your article by clicking the EDIT HTML tab and inserting the HTML link for your photo! Much easier IF you can work with HTML!!

What a delightful trip you gave to all of us, dear Suzie. Oh how I miss those drives to the farm stands. We used to do that in PA and it was THE BEST!
I think someone on Blogger needs to simplify their picture situation.

Susie, what a fun day you had! I would love to take that kind of drive to load up on good food and fresh produce.

I use the same process as everyone. Load them all up, then drag to where you want them.
