Red in Winter is my favorite color

The last blizzard we had I could barely see the little red birdhouse sitting on the bakers rack out in the courtyard. Even my picture came out all too white because that was all I could see. White, white, white all over. Everything was buried. Then the snow melted. I placed a square of suet-wrapped birdseed on the rack and there he was. My beauty. My handsome red cardinal. The Mrs. came too, but my eyes were all aglow on gazing at him. He has visted each and every day and I am finding that I can get through another day of Winter by his visits. Turns out I love red in Winter!

Sweet Susie that is beautiful I am so jealous I love the snow and we so not get it very often in my area of the state I am just blocks from the bay. So everyone around us we get it. Sometime it looks let we are in a bubble and the snow is all around us. I would love to have a copy of thet picture if you ever decide to see it! I guess I love red in the winter too! And how precious to have the Mr and Mrs bird to watch!

I love to see the garden full of birds, like you we have made a special effort to feed them this year. Your cardinal is beautiful, something we do not have in England but have seen pictures, thank you for sharing.

Hi Susie,

That's beautiful! The sight of the red cardinal is so welcoming in a blanket of white snow. I would be too, looking out for him everyday!
Thanks for sharing. Have a great week!

Oohhh... How artistic you are! I love the snow picture. I also understand your love of cardinals, they so brighten our winter here too. Nothings says winter more than a cardinal in the snow. Hugs, Tedi

Love the photo! Cardinals are one of my favorite birds. We have lots of them and I love to see them out on the lawn just pecking away.

Hi Susie!
Mr. Cardinal is truly a beautiful site in the winter.
All that snow made me cold to look at it! Burrrr!
hugs to you,
