Create on A Shoe String

It is Memorial Day Weekend and time to strut the Red, White and Blue! I wanted a new wreath for my door and yet did not want to spend money on it. I looked around my own home, took bits of this and that and viola! My holiday wreath now proudly adorns my front door. I used wire to put my decor on so I can remove it and make the next wreath on my plain grapevine wreath. I wanted to share this with you because ingenuity meets creativity = thriftiness = more money stays in my wallet. What do you have around the house that you can dust off, add to, spiff it up and make your own holiday decor? Happy Memorial Day Weekend for those who have the time off to celebrate the beginning of Summer. God Bless all those in our Armed Forces for whom this day is possible.

Susie,
Your wreath turned out great and looks really nice against your white door. I love creating from things I find around the house or stashed away for a later time. It makes me feel good to know my thrifty purchases can be used for many things. You too Susie have a great week~end!

Great wreath. It's great to be able to create from what we have and we "crafters" have a lot!
Great post.

I feel melancoly with this post...my dad is buried in a military cemetery...It was always his dream to be buried there as he went off to WW2 with many young men in his community and within that cemetery lay 17 of them that did not come home alive. I took a day trip with him one day a few years ago before he became so ill and we stopped there to see the headstones of those old pals. Now dad is there with his relatives and friends...a sis having joined him just recently...where did the time go?
