I love my romantic bedroom. Most days I have difficulty making my bed. All my bedding is done in roses. My cats are all boys. They love to snuggle into the 'rose bed' every chance they get. I always wished I had my camera near to capture their ability to keep me from making the bed. Now I tell you, could you move this "Little Guy"? I just go away to another chore and let him rest amongst the roses. Sweet dreams Little Guy.

Two New Ladies Came to Town

Meet "Grace" and "Allison", the new ladies who will be joining the others at "If the Shoe Fits...Altered Art for Cinderella Dreams" that can be found at my boutique, The Polka Dot Rose and on my Little Pink Boutique at Make Mine Pink (http://www.makeminepink.com/). Each lovely shoe comes with it's own personality. Dripping with vintage lace, jewelry, embellishments, flowers, and much more. I have to say I get quite attached to each of them. I can see these as a gift for a bridal attendant or at a shower table display. Some of my "Cinderella Dreams" have a beautiful silk rose hand made by our very own Erica of Meadow Street (www.meadowstreet.com). Most of the shoes come with rose pins or bling that can be actually taken off and worn. Enjoy seeing all the offerings at the boutiques at Make Mine Pink. Enjoy!Saturday, November 1, 2008

SHOW AND TELL ~ CINDERELLA DREAMS

I had to cheat a little for Show and Tell Monday. The pictures I had to upload are not cooperating. I will use Plan B. For those of you who haven't seen my new bliss, I am introducing my new exciting line called "If The Shoe Fits, Altered Art for Cinderella Dreams". I am having a ball (get it?) rediscovering my stash(es) of beautiful laces, embellishments, brooches, trims, ribbons, etc. that I have had the pleasure of collecting during my years of treasure hunting. There is alot of oohs and aahs going on when I find new delights to make a Cinderella Dream shoe out of. I placed three of the shoes under my Little Pink Boutique, The Polka Dot Rose on Make Mine Pink .(www.makeminepink.com) and will be moving them to my website soon and adding my new lovely ladies. (www.thepolkadotrose.com) . Have a wonderful time looking at all the Show and Tell boutiques at Make Mine Pink.

Pink Friday is In the Hope Chest
Everyone ususally has hope chest memories. I grew up with my Mom's hopechest (which she received from her parents), holding cherished possessions: her dear Mom's blue lace dress from their 50th wedding anniversary. My own Mom's wedding dress was there. One of my dresses as a two year old (I still have that!); and other items which were kept in a safe place from the moths season to season. It was that very hope chest I started putting my "when I marry the man" treasures into. It is when I began my collection for Fenton hobnail milkglass. Then once I became engaged, the engagement gifts went into the hopechest. It was brimming with hope, dreams and wishes. My sister Nancy is the keeper of Mom's hopechest. Each daughter took one of Mom's most cherished possessions. I, luckily, have two. My Mom's antique pitcher and bowl set; her most loved marble table. What makes them so valuable? Her love for her treasures. My memories of her love for them.Last year after one of my dear Aunties passed on, we were blessed to be a part of going through her hopechest with my cousin. It was like sacred territory to me. To see all the goodies my aunt just could not part with; projects started with hope to be finished someday; linens, yarns; fabrics, etc. I came home with some of my Aunt's gems for enjoyment in my own home.
Today please go to http://www.makeminepink.com/ and visit the boutiques hope chest offerings. Click on Pink Friday packages and you are there! Enjoy!

Show and Tell Monday

u
October is such a beautiful month. One of my friends took me out to lunch to celebrate my birthday and I took these pictures outside of the restaurant. The pumpkins were HUGE and the wreath on the purple door was delightful. I have been wanting to paint my front door and this will motivate me. While we dined indoors and enjoyed all the Fall decorations, the restaurant was also having it's annual outdoorFall Octoberfest, with a band, pony rides for the children, and all types of food to mark the occasion. Very festive. The weather was perfect.
