"Lavender and Lace" for Pink Friday

Lavender and Lace

Please join us for shopping with a twist on Friday, April 24, 2009 for Lavender and Lace. A lavender field in full bloom creates a purple and green landscape and infuses a sweet fragrance into the air. A field of flowers brought to life with the buzzing of bees, decorated with birds and butterflies drawn to its fragrant aroma. The lavender fragrance wafts gently through the air, carrying the memories of flowers, happiness, and sunny days. Far away, a summer porch, framed by windows with white lace, is surrounded with the scent of lavender. Lavender blooming in window boxes and flower pots, or decorating a flower garden with their purple blossoms. Whether along a country road or on a city street, the lavender scent embraces all indiscriminately. Too beautiful to remain outdoors, the fragrance of lavender easily enters our homes and daily lives. From a carefully tended flowerbed we pick a tiny bunch and place it in a hand-cut crystal bud vase, where it can brighten a corner as it sits upon a vintage lace doily. Tuck a sprig of the tiny flowers into the lace band of a broad-brimmed summer hat, carrying the beautiful fragrance with us wherever we go. Or perhaps lay it inside a dresser drawer. Tie it with a tiny scrap of lace and hang it upon a wall, set it upon a shelf. In a drawer or as a lavender bouquet tied with apple-green organdy ribbon, edged with a dainty row of lace, the loveliness of lavender is impossible to contain. An elegant centerpiece set upon an antique table draped with a vintage lace table cloth, it's a feast for more than the eyes as the fragrant aroma declares its presence. Sunlight shining through the lacy curtains warms the room and casts delicate shadows upon the wall. Suddenly, the room seems draped in a lavender landscape and fields of lace.

Two New Ladies Came to Town

Meet "Grace" and "Allison", the new ladies who will be joining the others at "If the Shoe Fits...Altered Art for Cinderella Dreams" that can be found at my boutique, The Polka Dot Rose and on my Little Pink Boutique at Make Mine Pink (http://www.makeminepink.com/). Each lovely shoe comes with it's own personality. Dripping with vintage lace, jewelry, embellishments, flowers, and much more. I have to say I get quite attached to each of them. I can see these as a gift for a bridal attendant or at a shower table display. Some of my "Cinderella Dreams" have a beautiful silk rose hand made by our very own Erica of Meadow Street (www.meadowstreet.com). Most of the shoes come with rose pins or bling that can be actually taken off and worn. Enjoy seeing all the offerings at the boutiques at Make Mine Pink. Enjoy!

SHOW AND TELL ~ CINDERELLA DREAMS

I had to cheat a little for Show and Tell Monday. The pictures I had to upload are not cooperating. I will use Plan B. For those of you who haven't seen my new bliss, I am introducing my new exciting line called "If The Shoe Fits, Altered Art for Cinderella Dreams". I am having a ball (get it?) rediscovering my stash(es) of beautiful laces, embellishments, brooches, trims, ribbons, etc. that I have had the pleasure of collecting during my years of treasure hunting. There is alot of oohs and aahs going on when I find new delights to make a Cinderella Dream shoe out of. I placed three of the shoes under my Little Pink Boutique, The Polka Dot Rose on Make Mine Pink .(www.makeminepink.com) and will be moving them to my website soon and adding my new lovely ladies. (www.thepolkadotrose.com) . Have a wonderful time looking at all the Show and Tell boutiques at Make Mine Pink.

Pulling Out All the Lace

I am just beginning to rediscover all my 'stash' of beautiful laces and embellishments I have accumulated over the days, weeks, months and years of being an avid treasure hunter. I use the word 'rediscover' because it is all tucked away like precious gems awaiting their time in the spot light. That is what happened when I came across this beautiful lace. When I saw this, I had to have it for the lace alone. Guess what it is? Take a gander and leave me a response on my blog. I have something sweet and pink awaiting one lucky person. The winner will be chosen on Thursday, July 17th. Will it be you?
